Cihan University-Erbil and Krakow University of Technology Discuss Strategic Agreement to Strengthen Bilateral Relations
As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research delegation’s official visit to Poland, and on the sidelines of the scheduled meetings, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, held a dedicated meeting with Professor Andrzej Szarata, PhD, DSc, Rector of Krakow University of Technology.
During the meeting, held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in the presence of the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research delegation, Professor Dr. Amjad provided a comprehensive overview of Cihan University-Erbil, highlighting its scientific departments, academic programs, and extensive international partnerships. He stated: “Our university encompasses highly specialized departments including Computer Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Architectural Engineering, Interior Design Engineering, and Software Engineering and Informatics.”
In another segment of the meeting, the President of Cihan University-Erbil discussed opportunities for Cihan University-Erbil graduates to pursue Master’s and Ph.D studies, particularly in specialized fields such as Mechanics, Robotics, and Programming. He also emphasized expanding participation in the Erasmus+ program to promote students and faculty mobility, as well as facilitating Visiting Professors to teach at Cihan University-Erbil.
Furthermore, the meeting included an in-depth discussion on establishing joint research and publication teams between the two universities. Addressing this initiative, the President of Cihan University-Erbil stated: “I will establish direct communication between all our colleges and departments and your university so that the respective faculties can collaborate closely and remain fully informed about each other’s academic programs.”
As a symbol of the strong academic ties between the two institutions, Professor Dr. Amjad presented the official plaque of Cihan University-Erbil to the Rector of Krakow University of Technology. The visit marks a significant strategic step toward strengthening Cihan University-Erbil’s collaboration with leading scientific institutions in Europe, ensuring that its students benefit from the latest technological advancements and academic expertise.
