Cihan University-Erbil Assistant Lecturer Visits Leading Engineering Centers and Historic Sites in China

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed from the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University-Erbil carried out a series of official and field activities aimed at strengthening academic and professional collaboration in architecture and smart construction.

As part of her itinerary, she participated in a scientific tour of the historic ‘Three Lanes and Seven Alleys‘ (Sanfang Qixiang) district in Fuzhou. Organized by the Fujian International Office team, the tour provided valuable insights into traditional Chinese architecture, urban planning, and heritage preservation strategies. Dating back more than one thousand years, the district is regarded as one of China’s best-preserved historical neighborhoods and a prominent symbol of Fuzhou’s rich cultural heritage.

On Monday, July 6, 2026, she visited the Fujian Provincial Institute of Architectural Design and Research following an official invitation. She was warmly welcomed by Mr. Xi Ren, Chief Architect, and Mr. Weien Chen, President of the Third Institute of Architecture, along with several senior experts. During the meeting, both sides held in-depth discussions on future cooperation between the Cihan Group of Companies and FJADI. The talks focused on joint initiatives in architectural design, urban renewal, smart building technologies, scientific research, and academic exchange, with the goal of strengthening professional partnerships between the Kurdistan Region and Fujian Province.

Recognized as one of China’s leading institutions in architectural design and smart city development, FJADI plays a pivotal role in advancing innovative urban solutions. The visit marks an important step toward establishing long-term international partnerships that will contribute to the advancement of the architectural sector and enhance academic excellence at Cihan University-Erbil.
