Cihan University-Erbil Commemorates International Teachers’ Day

To recognize teachers’ role in shaping the society and to acknowledge their efforts, Cihan University-Erbil celebrated the International Teachers’ Day to mark the event.
October 5th is known as International Teachers’ Day. This annual event is celebrated across the globe to appreciate the teachers and their efforts by different academic and scientific institutes.
In this regard, Cihan University-Erbil in cooperation with cultural centre organized an event in Conference Hall. Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, Chairma of Board of Trustees Cihan University Campuses, Mr. Abdulwahid Muhammed, the head of Kurdistan Teachers Union, a number of members of Teachers Union, and a great number of teachers attended the event.
At the beginning of the event, some speeches were presented. After congratulating this international day to the teachers, the speakers talked about the significant role and position of teachers in the society and educational centres. It was also stated that the teachers are the leaders of their community and have an admiring duty and heavy responsibility to serve their society in different fields.
In another part of the event, some art activities namely a show was presented to mention the crucial role of teachers in the development of students in the classes.
At the end of the event, some awards were given to those teachers who dedicated their life to raise a conscious generation for the future of our society. Besides, an art gallery of the aforementioned teachers previously working in the educational institutes were exhibited. The event was ended with handing out the attendees a book entitled ‘Mamosta Says…’ written by Dr. Nawzad Yahya Bajger, Chairma of Board of Trustees Cihan University Campuses,
