Cihan University–Erbil Faculty Members Attend Seminar on China’s Economic Development and Business Culture

On July 11, 2026, faculty members from Cihan University–Erbil continued their participation in a specialized international training program in the People’s Republic of China by attending an academic seminar titled ‘The Chinese Economy, Culture, and International Trade.’ The seminar was part of a series of lectures and academic sessions organized by Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu.
Cihan University–Erbil was represented by Dr. Omar Zubair Daher, Head of the Department of Law and International Relations, and Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qader from the Department of Business Administration. They participated alongside representatives from seven other countries in a program designed to enhance knowledge of international trade, investment, transportation, and economic cooperation.
The seminar was delivered by Professor Li Hai, a faculty member at Southwest Jiaotong University. During his presentation, he discussed China’s rich history and cultural heritage, the development of the Chinese economy, and the key stages that contributed to its transformation into one of the world’s largest economies. He also explained the economic policies that have supported sustainable development and strengthened China’s engagement with international markets.
Professor Li Hai also introduced the political and administrative system of the People’s Republic of China, explaining how government institutions are structured and managed. He highlighted how strategic planning and economic reforms have contributed to the country’s overall development. In addition, he emphasized the role of Chinese culture in shaping the business environment and promoting international trade and economic cooperation with countries around the world.
The seminar featured interactive discussions among participants on China’s experience in economic development and international trade, as well as opportunities to apply these experiences to strengthen academic and economic cooperation among educational institutions and the participating countries.
This participation is part of the international training program organized by Southwest Jiaotong University in cooperation with the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), affiliated with the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. The two-week program includes specialized lectures and workshops on international trade, investment, transportation, logistics, and the Belt and Road Initiative, with the aim of promoting knowledge exchange and fostering international academic partnerships.
