Cihan University-Erbil Holds an Event for World Anesthesia Day in the Presence of Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Delawi
The Department of Anesthesia Techniques at Cihan University-Erbil organized a distinguished scientific event on the occasion of World Anesthesia Day. The event was held in the presence of Professor Dr. Amjad Sabir Al-Delawi, the President of the University, along with his assistants, heads of scientific departments, and a number of faculty members and students.
The activity, which took place in the university’s (VIP) hall, featured the presentation of several practical scientific papers by a select group of specialists and experts in the field of anesthesia.
Professor Dr. Hiwa Fatih Saber, an Anesthesiologist at Erbil Teaching Hospital, opened the symposium by presenting a scientific paper titled “General Anesthesia vs. Regional Anesthesia: Benefits and Risks.” Dr. Saber highlighted the importance of safe anesthesia and its pivotal role in the success of surgical operations. He also reviewed the latest developments in anesthesia techniques and modern practices. Furthermore, he addressed the challenges faced by professionals in this vital field and discussed ways to improve the professional level of specialists and workers in the sector, presenting several key points in this regard.
In another segment of the event, Dr. Maha Mohammed Anqoud, a Consultant in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, holding the Iraqi Board in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, presented a scientific paper titled “Comfort, Safety, and Speed: How Anesthesia Transforms Day Surgery.” In her presentation, she focused on the central role of modern anesthesia in advancing surgical procedures, enhancing patient comfort, ensuring safety, and accelerating the recovery process. She noted that this process plays a significant role in improving the quality of health services and reducing hospital stays.
Dr. Maha Mohammed Anqoud also discussed the latest pharmacological methods and modern techniques in short-term anesthesia with the attendees. She emphasized the importance of a thorough assessment of the patient’s health condition before surgery and complete cooperation among the anesthesia, surgical, and nursing teams to achieve the best outcomes.
