Cihan University–Erbil Hosts 7th Scientific Conference for Outstanding Graduation Projects
On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Cihan University-Erbil hosted the 7th Scientific Conference for Outstanding Graduation Projects. The Engineering and Computer Science session was held in the university’s Conference Hall, attended by the university president, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, along with faculty members, supervisors, and distinguished guests. The session was chaired by Dr. Nagham Ismail Yahya, with Assistant Lecturer Firas Muhammad Zeki Mahmood serving as the session rapporteur.
The conference opened with outstanding research projects in the field of Computer Science. The first presentation, titled “Higher Education Through Interactive Mobile Applications: A Case Study of Cihan University,” was delivered by Hussain Ayad Mohammed Fadhil, Sara Tahsin Mznd Hilal, and Aya Abdalsalam Shukry Majid, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Alyaa Asaad Mahdi. Following this, Abdullah Talib Abdulbaqi, Sarah Salam Hadi, and Reem Jafar Ismail presented their project, “Revolutionizing Diabetes Care with Integrated Health Management Using Artificial Intelligence,” supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Reem Jafar Ismail. Both studies showcased the vital role of digital solutions and AI in enhancing educational and healthcare systems.
The session then featured two projects focused on informatics and software applications. Mohammed Karim Jasim, Mohammed Ali Tarik, and Ammar Abid Jawad introduced their project, “Design a Website for Diet and Nutrition for Obesity,” supervised by Assistant Lecturer Yazen Saifuldeen, highlighting the integration of web technology in promoting healthy lifestyles. Additionally, Rafal Mohammed Mahd and Firas Muhammad Zeki presented “Design and Implementation of a Game Using Multiple Software and AI,” supervised by Assistant Lecturer Firas Muhammad Zeki. Their work demonstrated the use of multi-platform development and artificial intelligence techniques in the gaming industry.
The session further highlighted significant contributions from the Architectural Engineering Department. Shaye Shwan Ali, supervised by Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed, presented “Therapeutic Tourism Resort in Bastora Dam,” a project dedicated to creating healing environments through architectural innovation. Meanwhile, Asmaa Moin Hassan Tayfur, supervised by Professor Dr. Rashed Hamed Yaseen and Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed, showcased her project titled “Recreational Resort in Gomaspan Dam,” emphasizing the design of recreational spaces that merge functionality with natural landscapes. Additionally, Maryam Emad Majid, supervised by Dr. Nagham Ismail Yahya, presented her project “Ecological Resort in Mosul City,” focusing on sustainable architectural design integrated with environmental considerations.
The session concluded with distinguished projects from the Interior Design Department. Gulan Abdulhade Sabir Abdulhade, supervised by Dr. Nagham Ismail Yahya, presented her project “Interior Design for a Planetarium and Astronomy Research Center,” focusing on designing educational spaces that enhance scientific exploration. Finally, Amna Ayad Aziz Ayad, under the supervision of Dr. Nagham Ismail Yahya, showcased her project “The Interior Design of Mosul Memorial Museum,” aiming to preserve collective memory through thoughtful spatial storytelling and interior detailing.
The Engineering and Computer Science session at the 7th Scientific Conference for Outstanding Graduation Projects concluded with engaging discussions and positive interactions between the presenters and the audience. The conference successfully demonstrated Cihan University–Erbil’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation across disciplines, proudly living up to its motto: “With Knowledge We Rise.”
