Cihan University-Erbil hosts an awards ceremony to recognize the achievements of the graduates of grade 12 from Zhyar High School
Over the past few days, a series of distinctive ceremonies, sponsored by Cihan University-Erbil, were held to honor the graduates of grade (12) from Zhyar private high school, all taking place at Cihan University-Erbil.
The event commenced with a moment of remembrance for the martyrs, attended by the graduates’ families, principals, teachers, and administrative staff. Subsequently, several speeches were delivered to mark this significant occasion. Mr. Azad Hamad, Director of Zhyar High School, began by congratulating the graduates and expressing gratitude to the leadership of Cihan University-Erbil for their support and sponsorship of the celebration. He also advised the graduates to carefully choose their university departments to nurture their talents and skills, emphasizing the importance of being responsible individuals after completing their university education. He expressed confidence in the graduates’ capabilities to shoulder responsibilities.
In another part of the ceremony, Assistant Lecturer Hemin Shwani, representing Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, delivered a speech where he extended a warm welcome to the guests at Cihan University-Erbil. On behalf of the University’s President, he conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, their families, and the teachers of Zhyar High School. He highlighted Cihan University-Erbil’s prominent position as the first private university in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region since its establishment in 2007. Thousands of students have successfully completed their studies across various departments, with many alumni now holding key roles in society, including within national and governmental institutions, and some have established their own businesses and institutions.
He emphasized Cihan University-Erbil’s remarkable growth, both in terms of quantity and quality, with most scientific departments holding certifications and accreditations from prestigious European accreditation agencies such as ASIC and ZEVA. The University consistently ranks highly in national and international assessments, including Web Science (WoS), AD Scientific Index, Institute (SCImago), and Webometrics. According to these ranking websites, Cihan University-Erbil is the first and leading university in the Kurdistan Region in general and private universities in particular.
At the end of his speech, he added that Cihan University-Erbil leads the way among private universities in the Kurdistan Region and remains officially licensed and recognized by the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research in both the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad. The university is dedicated to providing innovative information, research, healthcare, medical services, and community support, with plans to establish a world-class teaching hospital in the near future.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of awards and honors to the graduates of Zhyar High School’s grade 12.
