The representative from Cihan University-Erbil, led by Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi, the director of the Research Center, participated in a 21-day intensive training course titled ‘Open Economy for Arabic Countries’ / ‘阿拉伯国家的开放经济’ from September 7th to 27th, 2023, in Hangzhou, China. China’s open economy has attracted significant foreign direct investment (FDI) thanks to its expansive consumer market, cost-effective labor force, and improving business environment. Foreign companies have established a robust presence in China, facilitating technology transfer, economic growth, and job creation. Furthermore, China’s ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ (BRI) has expanded its economic influence beyond its borders, promoting infrastructure development and connectivity with countries across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Furthermore, cross-border e-commerce significantly influences international trade and economic growth in the short and long term. Therefore, the government should further support the development of cross-border e-commerce by optimizing customs clearance processes, supervising payment agencies, expanding pilot ports, and establishing free trade zones.
“The closing speech was delivered by the Dean, Directors of the Ministry of Commerce, and Dr. Hasan Fahmi Al-Delawi.
