Cihan University-Erbil Strengthens Academic Partnerships in Saudi Arabia
As part of the Sixth International Conference on Toxicology and Pharmacology held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2025, Cihan University-Erbil proudly participated both academically and institutionally.
Mustafa Sardar, a fourth-year student from the College of Pharmacy, represented the university in the Arab Toxicology Competition in Dammam. Under the supervision of Dr. Anas Saadeh Al-Khouri, Mustafa competed alongside students from 27 universities across the Arab world in a rigorous first-round exam covering toxicology and pharmacology. His participation highlighted the university’s commitment to academic excellence and regional engagement in pharmaceutical sciences.
Also, The 6th International Conference, Workshops, and Exhibition on Toxicology and Pharmacy (KSAPT 2025), held at Narcissus The Royal Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, witnessed the participation of Sara Hachim Sultan, a student from the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Cihan University–Erbil. The conference, organized under the umbrella of the Global Forensic Excellence Summit (GFEX), formed part of the Global Summit of Excellence in Forensic Science (SCFMS 2025).
This international event brought together scientists, researchers, and professionals from various countries to discuss the latest advancements and technologies in the fields of toxicology, pharmacy, and forensic sciences. The sessions featured several distinguished speakers, including Dr. Mohamed Albekery, who served as the moderator; Dr. Dania A. Hussein, who presented on Augmented and Virtual Reality in Toxicological Research and Education; Dr. Nadiya Al Bulushi, who discussed The Pharmacist’s Role in Managing Poison Emergencies; and Dr. Monther Alsultan, who spoke on The Future of Digital Pharmacology.
In parallel, Dr. Anas Saadeh Al-Khouri visited the Regional Poison Control Center in Dammam as part of the KSAPT conference activities. The center provided an overview of its forensic and clinical toxicology services, including sample processing techniques and advanced methods for detecting narcotic substances in biological samples. The tour showcased the center’s cutting-edge instruments and its critical role in monitoring pharmaceutical, food, and environmental toxins, particularly in the Eastern Province.
