Cihan University-Erbil Student Conducts a Cultural Visit to Krakow and Participates in Newroz Celebrations
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, as part of his academic exchange semester at University of Lodz, Aland Sherzad Ibrahim, a second-year student from the Department of Computer Science at Cihan University-Erbil, conducted a cultural visit to the historic city of Krakow and participated in Newroz celebrations.
The visit began with an exploration of Krakow’s key historical and cultural landmarks, particularly the Old Town (Stare Miasto), which is renowned for its distinctive architecture and rich Polish heritage. Following the tour, Aland participated in a special ceremony celebrating the National Feast of Newroz at Krakus Mound. The event brought together members of the Kurdish diaspora in Poland, along with international guests, to celebrate the arrival of spring and national identity in a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
The celebration featured a variety of cultural performances, including traditional music, folk dances, and opportunities for social interaction. This experience significantly enriched the student’s international exposure and broadened his cultural perspective, highlighting the importance of cross-cultural engagement and the promotion of Kurdish heritage abroad.
