Cihan University–Erbil Students Explore the Historical and Cultural Heritage of Austria

On Thursday, June 25, 2026, on the fourth day of their international academic tour of Europe, students from Cihan University–Erbil visited Austria in conjunction with their participation in the advanced ‘Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)’ training course at Palacký University.
The participating students included Mina Hussein Karim (third-year, Biomedical Sciences), Kamgar Sarhang Mustafa and Ismail Qadir Azzat (fourth-year, Anesthesia Techniques), and Hardi Obaid Rafiq (graduate, Community Health Nursing).
During their visit, the students explored some of the most renowned museums and historical landmarks in Austria’s capital, Vienna. The visit provided them with firsthand insight into the city’s rich history and its remarkable civilizational, artistic, and cultural development, highlighting Vienna’s status as one of Europe’s leading cultural capitals.
In addition to the scientific objectives of their international program, the students gained valuable field experience beyond the traditional classroom setting. They learned about the different stages of Vienna’s historical and cultural development and, while touring the museums, examined rare artifacts and historical documents that illustrate the evolution of art, architecture, and science in Central Europe.
The participating students stated that visiting these heritage sites and engaging with an international academic and cultural environment had inspired them to further develop their academic knowledge and strengthen their future professional aspirations.
