Cihan University-Erbil Students Explored Clinical Nutrition Practices at Jumhuri Hospital
On February 25, 2024, fourth-year Nutrition and Dietetics Department students from Cihan University-Erbil, under the expert guidance of their lecturer Dr. Behnaz Shahrokhisahneh, embarked on a scientific visit to Jumhuri Hospital.
Upon arrival at Jumhuri Hospital, the students were warmly welcomed to the Nutrition Department, where they were greeted by Ms. Bakhshandeh Dler, a dietitian at Jumhoori Hospital, and Mrs. Khanzad Pirdavoud, an expert and experienced nurse in tube feeding placement. The visit commenced with a detailed session on the installation of nasogastric tubes, a critical procedure in providing enteral nutrition to patients. Led by Ms. Khanzad, the students were guided through the intricate process of nasogastric tube placement, from patient assessment to post-insertion care. Throughout the session, Dr. Shahrokhisahneh provided additional insights and facilitated discussions on the clinical applications of enteral nutrition. Their expertise and guidance enriched the learning experience, enabling students to seamlessly bridge the gap between theory and practice.
