Cihan University-Erbil Students in Poland Take Steps to Strengthen Academic Ties
To strengthen international academic relations and expand study opportunities for students, a delegation from Cihan University-Erbil, comprising Ibrahim Zaki Mohammed Salih, a second- stage student in the Physiotherapy department; Marwan Mohammed Ahmed, a second- stage student in the Nutrition and Dietetics department; and Mohamed Ali Baktish, a third- stage student in the Medical Laboratory Analysis department, held an important meeting.
During the meeting, which took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, with Assistant Professor Dr. Engineer Katarzyna Świąder, Coordinator for International Student Exchange at the Faculty of Human Nutrition at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), intensive discussions were held regarding the enhancement of joint projects between Cihan University-Erbil and SGGW, particularly in the area of expanding postgraduate study opportunities for Master’s and PhD programs.
The discussions also focused on the undergraduate student exchange program, specifically the dispatch of SGGW students to Cihan University-Erbil, as a complementary step to further strengthen cultural and academic exchange. In this regard, Katarzyna Świąder expressed her delight with Cihan University-Erbil’s experience, noting that several groups of Cihan University-Erbil students have already arrived at SGGW and have all demonstrated a high level of performance in all aspects. She also expressed her admiration for Cihan University-Erbil and hoped to visit Kurdistan soon.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Cihan University-Erbil students expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and the productive meeting. They emphasized the importance of student exchange programs in broadening students’ perspectives, stating that their presence at SGGW clearly reaffirms Cihan University-Erbil’s commitment to providing the best academic opportunities and fostering strong international connections for its students.
