Cihan University-Erbil Students Participate in Poland’s Independence Day Celebrations in Warsaw
Every year on November 11, Poland celebrates its National Day and the declaration of its independence, with various activities taking place across cities throughout the country. In this context, students from Cihan University-Erbil, currently studying at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences as part of a study program, participated in this national commemoration.
During the celebration, which took place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Cihan University-Erbil students actively participated in various activities held in Warsaw to mark Poland’s Independence Day. The participating students were Ibrahim Zaki Mohammed Salih, a second-stage student in the Department of Physiotherapy; Marwan Mohammed Ahmed, a second-stage student in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics; and Mohamed Ali Baktish, a third-stage student in the Department of Medical Laboratory Analysis. Through their participation, the students gained a deeper understanding of the history, culture, and spirit of independence of the Polish people.
On the historic and momentous day of November 11, 1918, following the conclusion of World War I and 123 years of partition under Russian, Prussian, and Austrian rule, Poland triumphantly regained its independence. Since that time, this significant date has been commemorated as Poland’s National Independence Day — a proud celebration observed annually across the nation with great enthusiasm and patriotism.
