Cihan University–Erbil Students Present Scientific Project at SGGW University, Poland
As part of the ongoing international scientific initiatives, students from Cihan University–Erbil participated in an academic program at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Poland. On Monday, January 26, 2026, the students concluded the course by presenting a scientific project titled “Nutrition through the Lifespan.”
The presenters were Ibrahim Zaki Mohammed Saleh, a second-year student in the Department of Physiotherapy, and Marwan Mohammed Ahmed, a second-year student in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. Conducted under the supervision of Professor Danuta Gajewska, the project involved a comprehensive analysis of various clinical case studies. The presentation focused on the process of nutritional assessment, the determination of macronutrient requirements, and the implementation of evidence-based dietary approaches tailored to different stages of the human lifespan.
The program included participants from several countries, including Germany, Latvia, Spain, and the Netherlands. The students from Cihan University–Erbil demonstrated active engagement, which, in addition to its scientific value, contributed to strengthening their analytical skills and clinical reasoning in addressing real-world nutritional challenges. Furthermore, the program provided a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and international collaboration.
The students expressed their sincere appreciation to Professor Danuta Gajewska for her valuable guidance and engaging teaching methodology. They also extended their gratitude to the President of Cihan University–Erbil, Prof. Dr. Amjad Al-Delawi, for facilitating this prestigious international academic experience.
It is noteworthy that the students arrived at SGGW on October 1, 2025, to complete an academic course stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two universities for the 2025–2026 academic year. The students are scheduled to return to the Kurdistan Region in the coming days to resume their studies at Cihan University–Erbil.
