Cihan University – Erbil Students Qualify for National Level of Huawei ICT Academy Competition

On Sunday, November 16, 2025, six students from the Department of Informatics and Software Engineering and the Department of Computer Science at Cihan University – Erbil secured a remarkable accomplishment in the Huawei Global ICT Academy Competition. They were highly qualified for the national level of the competition, which is considered one of the largest and most challenging events in Iraq.

The selection and evaluation stages were conducted under the direct supervision of the university’s academic staff, with special follow-up and support from Asst. Lect. Firas Mohammed Zaki, Director of Huawei Academy at Cihan University – Erbil, who guided and assisted the students throughout the competition process.

Of over 5,000 students from various Iraqi universities who participated in the competition, only 96 students advanced to the national level. Notably, the qualifiers were from Cihan University – Erbil, highlighting its high academic standards and commitment to preparing talented students capable of competing in advanced technological fields.
