College of Dentistry Hosts Workshop on Dental Teaching Hospital Workflow
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the College of Dentistry at Cihan-Erbil University organized a scientific workshop entitled ‘Introduction and Workflow of the Dental Teaching Hospital. The event was held in the presence of the President of Cihan-Erbil University, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Dalawi. The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Maryam Fakher Ibrahim and Assistant Lecturer Ghufran Muslim Aqeel.
During the workshop, participants were introduced to the dental clinics at Cihan-Erbil University and the wide range of clinical services provided to patients. The session focused on familiarizing students with the organizational structure, functions, and clinical workflow of each department, highlighting the importance of systematic, patient-centered care.
Key clinical departments were addressed, including Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pedodontics, Periodontics, Orthodontics, and Dental Radiology. Fourth-stage students actively contributed by presenting detailed overviews of these departments. They explained the clinical workflow in each unit, beginning with patient reception and diagnosis, followed by treatment planning, clinical procedures, and post-treatment follow-up. To support effective learning, visual materials and brief workflow demonstrations were utilized to illustrate how dental services are delivered efficiently and safely within a teaching clinic. Students also engaged in discussions about available treatment options and their clinical significance.
At the end of the sessions, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Dalawi delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the dental teaching hospital and its infrastructure. He expressed his appreciation and pride in the dental students, commending their enthusiasm, dedication, and passion for patient care, and reinforcing the College of Dentistry’s commitment to preparing students for professional practice in a modern dental teaching hospital.
