College of Dentistry Organized Scientific Trip to Noor Dental Center
On Tuesday, 13 January 2026, the College of Dentistry at Cihan university-Erbil organized a scientific trip for third-stage dental students to Noor Dental Center as part of its efforts to enhance students’ clinical exposure and bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Lecturer Reka Ramiz Ali and Assistant Lecturer Ghufran Muslim Aqeel.
The trip commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Lareen Zana Qadir, who introduced the dental center and emphasized the importance of integrating academic knowledge with real clinical practice. Her address created a positive and motivating learning environment for the students.
As part of the scientific program, a concise lecture on nitrous oxide sedation was delivered by Dr. Nigar Hazhar, a specialist periodontist. The lecture covered key aspects including indications, mechanism of action, clinical applications, advantages, and safety considerations of nitrous oxide use in dental practice. The session was interactive and encouraged active student participation and discussion.
Following the lecture, the students were guided to a comprehensive tour of the dental center by the clinical staff, including Dr. Zina Saman (General Practitioner). During the tour, students received practical demonstrations on several advanced clinical facilities, including: The nitrous oxide sedation system, its components, and clinical usage. Sterilization protocols and equipment, highlighting infection control standards. The Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) unit and its role in diagnosis and treatment planning
The scientific trip proved to be highly educational, offering students valuable insights into modern dental technologies, clinical workflows, and patient management techniques. Overall, the visit successfully achieved its educational objectives and contributed significantly to the academic and clinical development of the participating students.
