College of Dentistry Students Conduct a Scientific Visit to Vanest Dental Center
On Thursday, January 8, 2026, a group of second-year students from the College of Dentistry at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an extensive scientific and educational field visit to Vanest Dental Center in Erbil.
The visit was organized under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Sawen Tahsin Taha and Assistant Lecturer Maryam Fakhir Ibrahim. The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Jigar Darbandi and the center’s specialized medical staff. The visit began with an introductory session outlining the center’s vision and its commitment to international standards of dental care.
During a guided tour of the center’s specialized clinics, students gained valuable insights into clinical environments and patient management protocols. They were also introduced to advanced dental technologies, including the Air Polisher and its role in modern preventive dentistry. In the laboratory department, students received detailed explanations of dental prosthetics and restorative procedures using state-of-the-art equipment.
Additionally, the visit included a practical seminar on digital dentistry, focusing on the creation of dental molds using advanced software and modern machinery. Students also participated in hands-on clinical training, with particular emphasis on dental fillings and restorative dentistry procedures.
At the end of the visit, the supervising lecturers, on behalf of the Deanship of the College of Dentistry, expressed their sincere gratitude to the management and staff of Vanest Dental Center. They emphasized the importance of such field visits in bridging the gap between theoretical learning and professional practice, enabling students to engage directly with the latest technological advancements in dentistry.
