College of Pharmacy Students at Cihan University–Erbil Visited Shar Hospital

On November 26, fourth-year students from the College of Pharmacy at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an educational field visit to Shar Private Hospital, under the supervision of Dr Mhamad Rashid.

The students were warmly received by Dr. Karwan Khasro Ahmed, the Chief Resident Doctor. During the visit, they were divided into groups and introduced to various hospital pharmacy practices, including how medications are prescribed, dispensed, and monitored within a clinical setting. This experience allowed them to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world patient care.

Throughout the visit, the students gained valuable insights into hospital pharmacy operations, including inpatient and outpatient services, sterile compounding, and medication reconciliation. The visit also enhanced their professional competence, communication skills, and ethical awareness, while deepening their understanding of the pharmacist’s role in hospital and clinical settings.
