Computer Science Students Conduct Humanitarian Visit to Nankali Hospital
On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the Computer Science Department at Cihan University-Erbil organized an official visit to Nankali Hospital for Blood Diseases and Cancer, which is affiliated with the Erbil Directorate General of Health.
Students from the second and third stages of the department participated in this humanitarian and scientific initiative under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Sara Jamal Hussein, a faculty member in the department. The visit focused on to provide moral support to patients especially children while enhancing students’ humanitarian and social awareness and linking theoretical learning with real-world community experiences.
The university delegation was welcomed by Mr. Jalal Mahmood, Head Nurse at the hospital, who received the group and provided a brief overview of the hospital’s work and the medical and humanitarian services it offers to patients.
During the visit, the students distributed gifts to the sick children and shared moments of joy and emotional support with them. This humanitarian gesture reflected a spirit of solidarity and empathy, contributing to bringing happiness to the children and their families.
Through this initiative, Cihan University-Erbil emphasizes the importance of integrating academic education with community service and strengthening the role of students in building a cohesive and compassionate society. The university also reaffirms its commitment to supporting health institutions and promoting the concept of social responsibility among its students, contributing to the service of both the Kurdistan Region and the broader community.
