With immense pride and on behalf of the Presidency of Cihan University-Erbil, I extend my warmest congratulations to each of you on reaching this unprecedented international scientific milestone. According to the latest rankings by the independent global institution (EduRank.org), Cihan University-Erbil ranks first among all private universities in the Kurdistan Region. Furthermore, it secured the fourth position among all public and private universities across the region combined.
On a national level, the university came in the first among all private universities in Kurdistan Region and Iraq as well. It achieved a remarkable accomplishment by ranking 15th among all public and private universities throughout Iraq. This international evaluation serves as a testament to the university’s commitment to academic excellence, high-quality research, and its adherence to global standards in higher education. On a broader scale, the university was ranked 2164th in all of Asia and 5886th in the world, standing out among over 14,000 higher education institutions evaluated globally. This ranking validates the caliber and scientific weight of our research efforts, which include thousands of published papers in strategic disciplines such as Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, garnering over 21,000 scientific citations.
This major accomplishment validates the strategic vision adopted by the University Presidency since 2007 to enhance the quality of education and prioritize innovation and scientific research. This result complements our previous series of successes and sends a clear message to the international academic community: Cihan University-Erbil is not merely a teaching institution but a leading and credible hub for knowledge production in the region.
I extend my deepest appreciation to our distinguished faculty and researchers whose tireless dedication made this brilliance possible. Furthermore, we assure our dear students that their degrees and academic endeavors are recognized and trusted on an international scale.
