Dental Technology Students Conduct Oral Health Awareness Activity at Shahed Fakher Merksori High School

On Sunday, February 15, 2026, second-year students from the Dental Technology Department at Cihan University conducted a health awareness activity at Cihan University–Erbil in collaboration with Shahed Fakher Merksori High School, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Suzyar Omer. They were received by the school’s principal, Ms. Chimen Huseein Nabi.

The activity included a detailed presentation on the importance of maintaining oral and dental health, with a focus on preventive measures that protect the gums and teeth from various diseases. The participating students also demonstrated proper daily oral hygiene practices using educational dental models that simulate the structure of the mouth and teeth, helping to clearly illustrate correct care techniques.

In addition, the students explained the negative aesthetic and functional effects of tooth loss and reviewed possible methods for replacing missing teeth. They also demonstrated how dental prostheses can serve as effective functional replacements for natural teeth.
