Dental Technology Team Defeats Pharmacy College Team in First Match of Mini-Football Tournament

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the start of the mini-football tournament organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Cihan University–Erbil, the Dental Technology Department students faced the Pharmacy College students in the opening match.

In a dramatic and highly competitive game, the Pharmacy College team asserted dominance from the outset, scoring the first goal to take the lead. After several continuous attacks from both sides, the Pharmacy team scored a second goal, keeping the match closely contested.

At the start of the second half, a player from the Dental Technology team received a red card for violent conduct while stopping an attack, forcing his team to continue with one player fewer.

Despite this setback, the Dental Technology team reorganized their formation and played more strategically. They managed to score their first goal, restoring hope, and shortly afterward, they netted the equalizer, changing the course of the match. The players defended their goal fiercely, with the Dental Technology goalkeeper delivering an outstanding performance by making several crucial saves and preventing clear scoring opportunities for the Pharmacy College team.

In the final minutes, due to a mistake by the Pharmacy team’s goalkeeper, the Dental Technology team completed a comeback by scoring the third and winning goal. The match ended 3–2 in their favor, delivering a clear message: determination and perseverance until the final whistle led to victory.
