Department of Accounting Conducts Scientific Visit to Khanzad Bank
On Thursday, 20 November 2025, the Department of Accounting organized a scientific visit to Khanzad Bank in Erbil for a group of fourth-year students, under the supervision of Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Mr. Huner Saber Aziz, Bank Accounting Manager, who provided an in-depth explanation of the bank’s accounting procedures and daily transaction cycle. He outlined how the bank processes daily deposits, withdrawals, loan installments, and inter-branch transfers, emphasizing the importance of accuracy, verification, and real-time recording through the bank’s core financial system. He also explained the preparation of daily transaction reports, cash balance reconciliation, account classification, and the internal controls used to ensure compliance with banking regulations. The session allowed students to observe how accounting principles are applied in a banking environment from documenting customer transactions to posting them in the general ledger and preparing end-of-day financial summaries.
At the end of the visit, Lecturer Rebin Bilal Mohammed expressed his gratitude to Khanzad Bank’s management and accounting team for their warm reception and valuable practical insights, which greatly enhanced the students’ understanding of real-world banking operations.
