Department of Accounting Students Visit Kurdistan International Bank to Enhance Practical Knowledge

On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, the Accounting Department at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit to the Kurdistan International Bank for Investment and Development in Erbil for second-year accounting students, supervised by Dr. Ibrahim Hussein Ahmed.

The students were warmly received by Ms. Arej Kazem Mohammed, Director of Branches and Offices; Ms. Awin Jader Mohammed, Hall Manager of the main branch; and Ms. Shilan, Head of Training and Development. The reception team provided an overview of the bank’s operations. Miss Faheen Rafid explained accounting procedures in the Current Accounts Department, Mr. Redar Mohammed detailed operations in the Letters of Credit Department, Ms. Sadriya Omar covered Foreign Transfers and SWIFT accounting, and Ms. Maha Ahmed Yaqoob explained credit granting and related accounting processes. During the presentations, students actively engaged by asking detailed questions about the practical application of accounting procedures in banking operations, how financial transactions are recorded, and how theoretical knowledge is applied in real-life banking scenarios. This interaction helped them gain a deeper understanding of both the practical and theoretical aspects of accounting.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Ibrahim Hussein Ahmed thanked the bank team for their hospitality and valuable explanations, acknowledging their contribution to enhancing students’ practical and theoretical knowledge while strengthening cooperation between the university and the bank.
