Department of Anesthesia Technology at Cihan University-Erbil Organizes Workshop on the Heart
On December 5, 2024, the Department of Anesthesia Technology held a workshop titled “The Heart: A Unique Universe,” featuring Dr. Shwan Othman Amin, a cardiologist and catheterization expert, in the VIP Hall. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Dalawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, Dr. Ayad Hazim Hasan, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and several heads of medical departments.
The workshop began with an opening speech by Dr. Mohsen Al-Ghazi, Head of the Anesthesia Technology Department. In his address, Dr. Mohsen emphasized the importance of the workshop in highlighting the latest innovations and modern technologies that contribute to improving patient care. He stressed the role of academic and research collaboration in achieving continuous development in the medical field.
Throughout the workshop, Dr. Shwan Othman Amin highlighted the unique aspects of the human heart, reviewed recent scientific developments concerning its nature and electrical functions, and presented the latest research innovations in cardiac surgery, as well as therapeutic and diagnostic catheterization. Drawing from his extensive experience, he discussed the complexities of heart function and the latest medical techniques used in diagnosis and treatment, while also emphasizing the importance of prevention based on scientific research.
Students from the Anesthesia Technology Department participated in a series of interactive group activities, allowing them to learn about the latest developments in the medical field and explore practical applications of advanced techniques used in diagnosing and treating heart diseases. Their enthusiasm was evident in their thoughtful questions and in-depth discussions on the topics presented.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Dalawi expressed heartfelt thanks to Dr. Shwan Othman Amin, commending his valuable contributions to the success of this distinguished scientific event. He presented Dr. Shwan with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of his inspiring contributions.
