Department of Architectural Engineering Member Participates in an Enterprise Exchange Meeting and Educational Visit in Guangzhou, China

On 12 July 2026, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed from the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University-Erbil participated in an Enterprise Exchange Meeting in Guangzhou, China, as part of the ‘Development of the Intelligent Construction Industry for Belt and Road Countries’ training program organized under the China Aid Program.
The meeting was hosted by Mr. Cheng Mingli, International Cooperation Manager, and organized by Ms. Bella Zheng and Mr. Josef Yu. During the meeting, participants exchanged knowledge and discussed opportunities for future cooperation between universities and industry in the fields of intelligent construction, sustainable development, and innovative building technologies. The company also introduced its international cooperation initiatives and highlighted its role in promoting innovation and professional collaboration with partners from Belt and Road countries.
As part of the program, Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed also visited several of Guangzhou’s iconic buildings and landmarks, where participants explored the city’s modern architectural achievements, innovative urban development, and the integration of sustainable design with contemporary construction.
The program also included a visit to the Guangdong Museum, one of southern China’s leading cultural institutions. Through its exhibitions on history, architecture, art, maritime trade, and regional heritage, the museum provided participants with a deeper understanding of the cultural identity and historical development of Guangdong Province, as well as the rich diversity of Chinese civilization.
