Department of Architectural Engineering Organizes a Scientific Field Visit to Cihan City Residential Complex, Erbil

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, third-stage students of the Department of Architectural Engineering at Cihan University – Erbil organized a scientific field visit to Cihan City Residential Complex in Erbil under the supervision of Lecturer, Dr. Nagham Ismael Yahya.

The students were warmly welcomed by the administrative staff of the complex. The visit was guided by the Administrative Director, Mr. Aran Nyazi Dzayi, who accompanied the students throughout the site and provided detailed explanations regarding the planning concept, design strategy, and development stages of the residential complex.

During the visit, Mr. Aran Nyazi explained the overall master planning of Cihan City, focusing on the organization of residential buildings, apartment unit layouts, circulation systems, and functional zoning. He also highlighted the supporting facilities integrated within the project, including the school, kindergarten, service areas, and underground parking, emphasizing their role in creating a complete and sustainable residential environment.

At the end of the visit, the Administrative Director also provided a comprehensive explanation to the students, linking the observed site conditions with architectural theory and design principles. She emphasized the importance of understanding the relationship between residential design, community services, urban planning, and user needs, and encouraged students to apply these concepts in their future academic projects.
