On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for students from various stages of the department to Zeravani City Brigade 1. The visit was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Hevi Muhammad Qader.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by General Adil Rash, Commander of Zeravani City Brigade 1. He informed the students that the Zeravani Forces were first established in 2003 and were initially known as the Erbil Forces. In 2007, they were officially renamed the Zeravani Forces. He also clarified that City Brigade 1 is affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, and he explained the roles of the Zeravani Forces, which include protecting internal security as well as safeguarding the external borders of the Kurdistan Region.
During the visit, Deputy Abdulhamid Fariq Bakr, Head of the Legal Department, guided the students through the different sections of Zeravani City Brigade 1. These included the Logistics Department, which is responsible for distributing food, fuel, uniforms, and clothing; the Accounting Department; the Legal Department; the library, which contains a wide range of books on history, politics, literature, stories, and poetry; and the Administrative Department.
Continuing the visit, Lieutenant Colonel Bakhtiyar Khalil, Head of Administration and a member of City Brigade 1, explained the differences between military administrative affairs and civil administrative affairs, noting that the documentation system is similar in both areas. He also clarified the meaning of the colors of the stars on military ranks: the white star is specific to the police internal forces, while the yellow star is specific to the military. A soldier with a white star must give a military salute to a soldier with a yellow star. He then outlined the military ranking system, which progresses as follows: Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, Brigadier, Major General, and Deputy General.
At the end of the visit, Assistant Lecturer Hevi Muhammad Qader expressed gratitude to General Adil Rash and all the staff of Zeravani City Brigade 1 for providing this valuable opportunity, which allowed the students to gain direct knowledge from military personnel.
