Department of General Education Celebrates World Teachers’ Day
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, the students of the Department of General Education at Cihan University–Erbil celebrated World Teachers’ Day in an atmosphere filled with respect and gratitude, with the participation of the Head of the Department and members of the academic staff.
At the beginning of the event, Dr. Ahmed Abd Aoun, Head of the Department of General Education, accompanied by several faculty members and students, paid a visit to the Presidency of the University. They were warmly received by Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Dalawi, President of Cihan University–Erbil. During the visit, the delegation presented him with flowers, a commemorative booklet, and a letter of appreciation, expressing their deep gratitude for his continuous efforts in supporting the educational process and enhancing the university’s academic and scientific standing.
During the meeting, Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Dalawi expressed his pleasure at the students’ visit and praised the Department of General Education for taking the initiative to celebrate World Teachers’ Day. He commended the students for their respect and appreciation toward their lecturers and emphasized that the teaching profession is not merely the transfer of knowledge but a noble mission that builds human beings before building society.
He added:
“From this perspective, Cihan University–Erbil strives to prepare a generation of teachers capable of instilling human and scientific values in their students so that they may become the creators of a brighter future. Your initiative today reflects the true essence of education: a teacher who is appreciated by their students knows they have succeeded in their mission and that their message has left a positive impact on their hearts. Building the human being is the highest form of construction, for it is humans who create civilization and lead change. Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to all of you, as you plant seeds of loyalty in the soil of knowledge.”
Following this visit, the students expressed their deep gratitude to their lecturers by presenting flowers, letters of appreciation, and booklets containing heartfelt messages of thanks and admiration for their unwavering dedication and sincere efforts in shaping a knowledgeable, aware, and creative generation.
