Department of General Education organized a seminar entitled “The Little Girl and the Doctor”

On Thursday, October 7th, 2021 at the Conference Hall in Cihan University-Erbil, the Department of General Education organized a seminar for third-year student, Zahra Luqman Ahmad entitled “The Little Girl and The Doctor”. The seminar was attended by assistant professor Dr. Abdul Satar Kareem Saeed, the vice president of Cihan University-Erbil for Administrative and Students’ affairs, Dr. Ahmad Abdul Aoun, head of the department and lecturers of the department.
At the beginning of the seminar, Zahra introduced the story to the audience and highlighted the events of the story. She explained the metamorphosis journey of the little girl; despite the poverty of her family and the illness of her grandmother, she became a doctor and overcame all the difficulties she had faced. Moreover, the story describes aspects of human life and nature and trying to achieve goals and dreams in life. In the story, it is said that money is not everything in life and humanity is above money.
It’s worth mentioning that the story was reviewed on several artistic aspects related to writing of such kinds of stories by assistant lecturer Shwana Qadir.
Later on, the attendees asked some critical questions and shared their views. On the other hand, they thanked the presenter for writing such an inspiring story. At the end of the seminar, the vice president of the University for Administrative and Students’ affairs presented the letter of appreciation to the student and wished her more success in the future.
Conducting such activities is one of the agendas of the Department in which students are encouraged to develop their writing skills until they reach the publication stage at the local and global levels.
