Department of International Relations and Diplomacy Participated in a Specialized Workshop on Artificial Intelligence Mechanisms

To strengthen their practical skills and deepen their understanding of current political and economic developments, students from the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at the College of Law and International Relations, Cihan University–Erbil, participated in a specialized workshop titled, Developing Financial Institutions through Artificial Intelligence Mechanisms.

The event was held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Cristal Hotel in Erbil, in collaboration with the Iraqi Ministry of Trade. Fourth-year students actively took part in the sessions, which explored how artificial intelligence can improve the performance of financial institutions by increasing efficiency, enhancing transparency, strengthening risk management, and supporting informed economic decision-making.

The workshop also addressed the challenges institutions and countries face in adopting advanced technologies and presented potential solutions. Students contributed through engaging discussions and valuable insights.

This workshop forms part of a wider series of academic and training activities organized by the department in cooperation with official institutions. Such initiatives aim to broaden students’ perspectives, familiarize them with modern technological applications in international relations and economics, and equip graduates with the skills needed to meet the demands of today’s job market while enhancing their research and academic competencies.
