Department of Law at Cihan University Organizes the International Virtual Court – JESSUP
The Department of Law at Cihan Erbil University organized a competition within the International Virtual Court, acknowledged as a preeminent virtual judicial platform globally, spanning three consecutive days from February 12th to 14th, 2024.
Many universities from Iraq and the Kurdistan region actively participated in the competition. It is noteworthy that the International Virtual Court is conducted at the global level among law faculties. In Iraq, the competition occurs between various faculties with the aim of securing a position to represent Iraq on the international stage. This marks the second stage of the competition, held in Washington, America. The victorious team advances to complete the trial rounds in America. Following the competition, certificates were distributed to the participants, members of the judiciary, and the winning team set to represent Iraq in the subsequent round in Washington.
In conclusion, Dr. Omar Zubair Al-Sheikhani, the Head of the Department of Law at Cihan University, delivered a speech to the participants, representing Cihan University. He emphasized the significance of virtual courts in enhancing the quality of legal education and underscored their role in directly preparing students from the Department of Law for future work in the field.
