Department of Media Conducts a Scientific Field Trip to Ava Media Channel

On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim, organized a scientific field trip for second-, third-, and fourth-year students to Ava Media Channel in Erbil.

At the beginning of the visit, Mr. Muhammad Khoshnaw, Head of Public Relations at Ava Media, warmly received the students and the supervising lecturer. He expressed his pleasure at receiving the delegation from the Department of Media and emphasized the significance of scientific field visits in building strong connections between academic institutions and media organizations.

Later, Mr. Muhammad Khoshnaw guided the students on a tour of the channel’s various departments and facilities. The students closely observed the workflow in the planning department, sound department, main news and program studios, sports department (Ava Sport), newsroom, graphic design department, and technical department. In each department, staff members and specialists provided detailed explanations of the media production process and the latest technologies in use. The visit provided an important opportunity for students to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications and gain a better understanding of the professional media working environment.

At the end of the scientific field trip, Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Jamal Hama Karim, the activity supervisor, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Muhammad Khoshnaw, Head of Public Relations at Ava Media, on behalf of the Head of the Department of Media at Cihan University-Erbil. He thanked him for the warm reception and for providing the students with a valuable opportunity to familiarize themselves with the channel’s various studios, facilities, and departments.
