Department of Medical Biochemical Analysis Conducted Environmental Initiative to Support Sustainable Development Goals
On Thursday, 8th May 2025, first-stage students from the Department of Medical Biochemical Analysis at Cihan University-Erbil carried out a field and volunteer activity aimed at promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on environmental preservation and public health under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ms. Zubayda Hisham Shakr and Laboratory Assistant Ms. Dunya Khalid, involved planting over 25 trees in public areas outside Erbil city. The students’ active participation in this green initiative reflects their growing awareness of sustainability and their commitment to environmental action.
This project marks the beginning of a series of community-oriented activities under the framework of the SDGs, designed to deepen students’ understanding of global challenges and inspire local solutions. Through such initiatives, Cihan University-Erbil continues to lead in embedding sustainability into its academic and extracurricular programs.
The university’s ongoing contribution to the achievement of the SDGs particularly those related to environmental protection and public health highlights its pioneering role in preparing students to become responsible, engaged citizens committed to building a more sustainable future.
