Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Students Visited CMC Hospital for Clinical Learning

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, third-year students from the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Cihan University-Erbil visited CMC Hospital for a clinical learning experience. This visit, held under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Reza Hasan, aimed at enhancing their practical knowledge of medical nutrition and patient care.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Mr. Ahmed Adil, the hospital administration manager, who provided an overview of the specialized nutrition and dietetics services at the hospital. During the visit, they were introduced to various clinical nutrition practices, including patient dietary assessment, nutrition therapy for hospitalized patients, and the role of dietitians in managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, and gastrointestinal conditions. They also had the opportunity to observe how nutritionists collaborate with medical teams to develop individualized diet plans for patients.

This visit provided students with valuable hands-on experience in a hospital setting, helping them to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. It also allowed them to gain insights into the professional responsibilities of clinical dietitians, further preparing them for careers in nutrition and healthcare settings.
