Department of Physical Education and Sports Science organized a workshop

On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science organized a workshop entitled “Coaching Philosophy and Professional Coach” on the Conference Hall at Cihan/Erbil University.

     The workshop included three parts; in the first part a seminar entitled “Coaching Philosophy” was presented by Asst. Pro.  Dr. Akram Abdul Wahid Mohammed Amin, during which he reviewed the philosophical concept of sports training. The second part, Professor Dr. Shamil Kamel Mohammed presented his seminar entitled “Professional coach”.  He discussed the reality of the training process and professionalism in the field of training. Finally, the third seminar was presented by lecturer Zhian Jamal Osman entitled “Developing Mental Skills” in which she reviewed the mental skills of athletes and how to develop them by their coach.

     A group of university teaching staff and a group of coaches of clubs and sports federations in Erbil attended the workshop. The workshop had panel discussions, questions and answers about each lecture. The audience inquired from the lecturers and the dialogue was constructive and it resulted in several recommendations to the training staff and sports departments.
