
Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies Students Commence Clinical Training at Erbil Smart City Hospital

On Thursday, September 10, 2026, fourth-stage students from the Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies at Cihan University-Erbil commenced their clinical training at Erbil Smart City Hospital under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Navid Abdulkarim.
Upon their arrival, Assistant Lecturer Navid Abdulkarim and the students were received by Mr. Mohammed Saddam Hazim, an X-ray equipment technician. He provided an orientation session on the hospital’s radiology departments and clinical working environment. Following the orientation, the students initiated practical training on the operational protocols for Computed Tomography (CT scan) equipment, including patient preparation procedures, parameter settings for diagnostic scans, and radiation safety and protection measures designed to safeguard patients and medical staff during imaging procedures.
At the end of the visit, Mr. Mohammed Saddam Hazim emphasized the significance of clinical training in enabling students to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications within authentic healthcare settings. He noted that direct engagement with CT scan technology and real-world clinical cases enhances technical competencies and prepares students for the labor market.
