Department of Radiological Imaging Technology Organized a Scientific Visit to Zheen Hospital
As part of the Department of Radiologic Imaging Technology’s efforts to provide a comprehensive educational environment that integrates academic study with practical application, this department organized a scientific visit to Zheen Hospital in Erbil for its second-year students on Monday, February 10, 2025. The visit was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Abdul Aleem and Laboratory Assistant Barzin Kamal. This visit aligned with the university’s vision, which emphasized the importance of connecting theoretical knowledge with practical applications to prepare qualified medical professionals with advanced technical skills that meet the job market demand.
The students were welcomed by Mr. Awara Ibrahim Fatah, a radiologic technologist who provided them with a detailed explanation of the latest radiological imaging technologies used in disease diagnosis. The visit included an introduction to various imaging devices such as X-ray machines, which are used for bone imaging and fracture detection, computed tomography (CT-Scan), which provides three-dimensional images for diagnosing internal injuries; magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which relies on magnetic fields to examine soft tissues and internal organs; and ultrasound imaging, which is widely used in pregnancy examinations and the diagnosis of heart and abdominal conditions.
Regarding the importance of collaboration between hospitals and academic institutions, Mr. Awara Ibrahim Fatah emphasized that Zheen Hospital is always committed to supporting the educational process by welcoming university students and providing them with the opportunity to learn about the latest medical devices and imaging technologies. He added that this visit not only expanded the students’ knowledge but also enhanced their practical skills and built their confidence in handling modern medical equipment, making them better prepared for the job market after graduation.
This visit reflects Cihan University-Erbil’s commitment to offering a comprehensive educational experience based on hands-on learning. The university believes that providing students with practical training opportunities enhances their ability to tackle real-world professional challenges and prepares them to become active contributors to the healthcare sector in the future.
