Educational Field Visit by Media Department Students to Ava Media

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, a group of students from the Media Department at Cihan University-Erbil, under the supervision of Dr. Ammar Najmaddin Hawas, conducted a scientific field trip to Ava Media in Erbil.

The supervising lecturer and the students were received by Mr. Mohammed Khoshnaw, Director of the Public Relations Department, and Dler Hassan, Public Relations Coordinator, who expressed their pleasure at the visit. The students then toured the Ava Media newsroom and studios. Dr. Arshad Khalil Shwani, Output Director at Ava Media, explained the newsroom workflow, the process of producing news from various sources, and methods for handling diverse news stories. He also emphasized the importance of teamwork in achieving professional goals and ensuring success.

During the trip, the students gained firsthand insight into media production processes, particularly news production. In addition, Dr. Arshad Shwani addressed the students’ observations and answered their questions in detail.

At the end of the visit, both sides highlighted the importance of maintaining an ongoing relationship between the Media Department at Cihan University-Erbil and Ava Media to further support the academic and professional fields of journalism and media.
