English Language Department Students Conduct Community Awareness Activity at Erbil Citadel on AI for Special Needs

On Tuesday, October 28, second-stage students from the Department of English Language at Cihan University–Erbil conducted a community awareness activity highlighting the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for individuals with special needs. The event took place at the historic Erbil Citadel and attracted the attention of many visitors and locals.

Under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Marwa Mahmood Ameen, the students educated the local community about the transformative role of AI technologies in improving the lives of people with disabilities. During the event, they distributed informational brochures explaining how AI can enhance accessibility, support personalized education, and contribute to health and therapy. The students highlighted how AI-driven applications assist with communication, navigation, and daily tasks, while smart learning systems adapt to individual learning needs and pace.

The brochures also emphasized AI’s role in early detection, personalized therapy plans, and ongoing monitoring for individuals with special needs.
