On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, third-stage students from the English Language Department conducted a seminar presentation at Baz Secondary School entitled ‘The Importance of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Students’ Speaking Skills.’ The seminar targeted 9th and 10th-grade students and was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Rozhin Hosseini.
Upon arrival, the university students were warmly received by the school Principal, Ms.Sivaana Faruq Mohammed, and the teaching staff. The seminar began with a presentation that highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in developing English speaking skills.
During the seminar, the students introduced several AI tools, such as Gemini, Duolingo, Seeing AI, and other AI-based applications. They explained how these tools help learners improve pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, and confidence through speech recognition, instant feedback, and interactive speaking practice. The presenters also discussed other AI tools, including chatbots and virtual speaking assistants, that support speaking development.
The seminar was highly interactive, and the students actively engaged by asking questions about how artificial intelligence can enhance their speaking skills. Question-and-answer sessions were conducted both during and at the end of the seminar presentation, which allowed students to participate effectively and share their ideas.
The seminar concluded with positive feedback from both students and school staff, highlighting the importance of integrating artificial intelligence into English language learning.
