English Language Department Students Deliver Seminar on Creative Reading Strategies at Ban Private School

Third-stage students from the Department of English Language at Cihan University–Erbil delivered a seminar titled ‘Creative Reading Strategies ‘at Ban private School for grade 7 students on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The activity was conducted under the supervision of Lecturer Pola Tahseen Mohammad to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical classroom applications.

Upon arrival, Lecturer Pola Tahseen Mohammad and the students were warmly received by Mr. Goran Radha Hussein, the school principal at Ban Private School.

During the seminar, the students presented a variety of innovative strategies to enhance learners’ reading skills. They demonstrated techniques such as storytelling, role-playing, and interactive reading games to encourage imagination, comprehension, and active participation. The session also emphasized the integration of digital tools and visual aids to make reading lessons more engaging and effective. Moreover, the students highlighted creative tasks, including drawing scenes from stories, predicting endings, and participating in group reading activities, to foster cooperation, critical thinking, and motivation among learners.

The seminar concluded discussions about potential future collaborations to further promote creative approaches in English language education. Lecturer Pola Tahseen Mohammad and third-stage students expressed their gratitude to the school administration and staff for their warm hospitality and support.
