Faculty Members from the Departments of Business Administration and Law Visit the State Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Vehicle System in Chengdu

On Monday, 20 July 2026, as part of an international academic training program in the People’s Republic of China, Dr. Omer Zubir Zahir, Head of the Department of Law and International Relations, and Assistant Lecturer Hevi Mohammed Qader from the Department of Business Administration at Cihan University – Erbil visited the State Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Vehicle System in Chengdu.
Upon their arrival, the participants were warmly received by Professor Jiang Xuejiao, a lecturer at the State Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Vehicle System, who provided an overview of the laboratory’s history, development, and research achievements. She explained that the laboratory was established in 1989 and has played a significant role in advancing research and innovation in China’s rail transit technology.
During the visit, Professor Jiang introduced the laboratory’s organizational structure and research areas, highlighting its two main research laboratories and specialized testing platforms. The faculty members were introduced to several advanced experimental systems, including the Bogie Frame Fatigue Test Rig, which is used to evaluate the durability and safety of railway vehicle bogie structures; the Bogie Traction and Braking Test Rig, designed to assess traction and braking performance under various operating conditions; and the Testing System of Adhesion Characteristics of Wheel/Rail under Extreme Conditions, which focuses on enhancing the safety, stability, and efficiency of railway operations.
The participants also learned about the laboratory’s contributions to the development of high-speed railway technology, including research on rail transit vehicle systems, innovative railway equipment, and future transportation solutions. The visit provided valuable insights into China’s advanced railway research capabilities and demonstrated the importance of scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing modern transportation systems.
The academic visit enriched the participants’ understanding of China’s achievements in railway engineering and highlighted the importance of integrating technological innovation, scientific research, and international collaboration to support the continued development of modern transportation systems.
