Visa guidance
To apply for a visa to study or work at Cihan University-Erbil, international students must have a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies issued by the University, while faculity member must have an invitation from Cihan University.
The student who wants to apply to our university can visit the admission department and receive a letter to request the equalization of his degree according to the system in the university and for finishing his/her degree equalization by the Certificate Equalization Department in the Ministry of Education in the Kurdistan Region. After completing it, the student must deliver the original copy of equalization of all the required papers with a copy of his/her passport.

Students may apply online if they cannot visit the university. Then, they can receive an application form from the registration section.
Student can obtain a Study visa before the start of an academic year, Cihan University will get a visiting Visa for 30-day entry vignettes to successful Student route visa applicants
- Complete the Visa Application Form, type the information requested into the appropriate spaces on the form and print the completed application.
- Submit two recent identical front-view color photographs with white background measuring (45 × 35 mm).
- Submit a Color copy of passport – passport must be valid for six months from the date the visa application is submitted.
- Applicants must provide with their applications a valid phone number and email.
- Please allow 15 business days for visas to be processed.
- Approved applicants will be issued single-entry visas valid for one months from the date of issuance.
Student\Faculty member from the following countries /regions can get visa-on-arrival upon landing in Iraq.

For this, once student\faculty arrive in Erbil, student\faculty will receive his\her visa at the visa desk, after a payment of $77. After they issued the visa, you are free to enter the country for 30 days.
