Inspection of Food Quality of Cihan University Campus and Safety Test for Food Sample
After visiting the cafes and a restaurant of Cihan University-Erbil campus, third-year students of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department under the supervision of Dr. Sara Omar Sewar conducted a Microbiological test for the cabbage, peach, pastry, and yogurt from the restaurant to know which type of microorganisms live on spoiled food using the two methods for isolation, namely the streak plate methods and pour plate methods.
They also checked the storage condition, the products and their expiry dates. The students were trying to follow the health guideline of the directory.
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics has always attempted to organize activities which focus on practical training to connect the students’ knowledge with labor markets.
