Interior Design Engineering Students Conduct Field Visit to KOTAN Showroom
On Sunday, January 25, 2026, a group of second-year students from the Interior Design Engineering Department at Cihan University–Erbil conducted an educational field visit to the KOTAN Showroom.
The visit was organized under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Lana Shahab Ahmed, with the assistance of Assistant Lab Gulan Abdulhady Sabr. The students were received by the showroom manager, Mr. Hiwa Abdullah Saed, who explained the main workplace areas within the showroom, including office spaces, meeting rooms, circulation zones, and support areas.
During the visit, Mr. Hiwa Abdullah Saed explained how each workplace area is designed according to its function and discussed the interior treatments applied, such as space planning, furniture arrangement, lighting systems, material selection, and acoustic considerations in professional work environments.
Throughout the site visit, the showroom manager emphasized the importance of workplace design for interior design engineering students. She highlighted how well-designed workplace areas enhance productivity, communication, comfort, and user experience. The visit enabled students to understand the relationship between functional requirements and interior design solutions in contemporary workplace environments.
