Intra-Departmental Volleyball Tournament Kicks Off at Cihan University-Erbil, Department of Software Engineering and Informatics Secures First Victory

Within the framework of annual sports activities aimed at promoting physical fitness and fostering a competitive spirit within the academic environment, the Intra-Departmental Volleyball Tournament commenced at Cihan University-Erbil on Monday, November 24, 2025. The tournament is held under the auspices  of the University Presidency and supervised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.

The opening match of the league featured a dynamic encounter between the student team of the Department of Software Engineering and Informatics and the student team of the Department of General Education. In a highly tactical game, the Software Engineering team succeeded in securing a victory over their opponents with a final score of 3 sets to 1.

The atmosphere on the court witnessed intense competition, with both teams displaying high technical levels and solid physical readiness. This elevated the match beyond a standard game, serving as an exemplar of dramatic rivalry and fair play.

Technically and tactically, the players of the Department of Software Engineering and Informatics managed to dominate the game play. By utilizing organized offensive and defensive strategies, they established their superiority. Despite strong defense from the General Education team, powerful spikes and precise ball distribution by the Software Engineering team proved decisive in settling the match.

The match concluded with a significant victory for the Department of Software Engineering and Informatics team (3-1). With this result, they have successfully secured the first three points of the tournament.
