Law Department Students Conduct Scientific Visit to First Notary Public Office in Erbil

On Sunday, 8 February 2026, the Department of Law at Cihan University–Erbil organized a scientific visit for second- and fifth-year students to the First Notary Public Office in Erbil under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Saman Hassan Ali. The student delegation was received by Mr. Botan Kamiran Osman, Director of the First Notary Department, who welcomed the students with an opening speech that provided an overview of the directorate’s structure and its pivotal role within the legal system.

Following this, Ms. Bayar Majeed Abdulrahman, Deputy Director, delivered a detailed lecture outlining the department’s specific jurisdictions and emphasizing its role in documenting legal actions and establishing rights to ensure legal protection for all parties. The lecture also covered procedures for attesting contracts, authenticating and canceling guarantees, accepting legal deposits, and mechanisms for authenticating international transactions.

The visit included a field tour of the department’s sections, most notably the Machinery Registration Department, where the officer in charge provided a comprehensive explanation of the legal importance of registering machinery-related transactions and the official documentation process. At the conclusion of the tour, Mr. Saman Hassan Ali, on behalf of the Law Department and Cihan University, expressed deep gratitude to the department’s management and staff for their warm reception and their efforts in enriching the students’ knowledge with practical field expertise.
